Kyoshi Steve Ouslis

Kyoshi Ouslis is a 7th Degree Black Belt and Head Instructor of our Northern Karate Steeles West location. He has more than thirty years experience studying and researching different martial arts and has received his certification from both, the World Kobudo Federation and the All Okinawan Karate Do Federation (Japan).

An active tournament competitor in the 1980's, Kyoshi Ouslis was ranked among the top ten in forms, sparring and weapons by Karate Illustrated magazine, and was voted Male Black Belt Competitor by the Ontario Karate Circuit. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Kyoshi Ouslis also participated with the Varsity boxing team, as well as playing on house league basketball and football teams. Kyoshi Ouslis is a certified acupuncturist and member of the Ontario Association of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (OAATCM), and is a firm believer in natural healing. Having traveled to Japan to further his training and research in Karate-do and Kobudo, Kyoshi Ouslis has also taught and performed at many international martial arts seminars and events throughout Canada, the United States, India and Europe.
