Since beginning karate in 1974 and receiving black belt six years later, Shihan Cos Vona has practiced a variety martial arts and related disciplines including Kobudo, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and police tactics.

In addition to co-directing two Northern Karate School locations (including our newest branch in Woodbridge), Shihan Vona instructs Bully Proof® and Reality Check® programs in local private and public schools. He’s also a featured instructor at martial arts events in Canada and Europe.

NKS’ resident bon vivant, Shihan Vona’s other passions include traveling the world in search of the perfect risotto, accompanied by his son David, daughter Rebecca and wife Lucy, a 2nd degree black belt and NKS teacher.
